Cardiovascular Dynamics

The cardiovascular dynamics is the study of blood flow through vascular vessels and all its effects analyzed from the mechanical point of view. Since 1986, the Biomedical Engineering Group has worked in this research area, whose principal objective is to develop and introduce to the market, tools (devices, models) that help improve the diagnosis or treatment of different cardiovascular diseases in Colombia. In fact, using mathematical and computational models, the cardiovascular dynamics area study the blood flow, the stresses in the vascular walls and the mechanical properties of blood and walls in physiological and pathological conditions, in order to finally develop and transfer the new technologies in the practice of cardiology and of cardiovascular procedures.
