Biomechanics is a field of study applying mechanical theories to biological and/or medical applications, and biomechatronics is its extension incorporating electronics and control theories. Our research focuses on the translational research bridging biomechanical and biomechatronical theories with clinical orthopedic and rehabilitative applications. Current research topics include but not limited to the development of mobility assessment/intervention technology for children with cerebral palsy, the development of personalized orthosis/prosthesis design technology, and clinical verification through human experiments. We mainly collaborate with many medical professionals from important hospitals of Colombia.
